Volunteers Needed for Run 4 The Greenway!

Greenway_ribbon_cutting_166web.jpgIf you are not running in the race, many volunteers are needed to help the day of the race.  There are lots of different jobs during the race - something for every age and skill level. Please pitch in and show your support! There is something for everyone!

Volunteer Duties Available Are:

Downtown Greenway Information Tent: Responsibilities include distributing information about the Downtown Greenway, selling items, collecting contact information to be put in our database.

Silicone Bracelet Sales:  Responsibilities include walking through Center City Park and selling the bracelets.

Grassroots Assistant: Responsibilities include assisting Grassroots staff in keeping the event on time and organized.

Volunteer Check-in: Responsibilities include checking in volunteers and sending them to their assigned stations.

Water Stations:  Responsibilities include distributing water and Gatorade to runners as they pass by along the course.   Volunteers will meet at Center City Park at 4:30 and be taken to their spots unless other arrangements made.

Runner Hospitality Tent on Davie Street: Responsibilities include being sure food & drink available for event participants.

Runner Registration: Responsibilities include checking in runners and distributing their race bags, providing baggage check for runners during event

Chip Collectors:  Responsibilities include cutting chips off runner’s shoes as they pass the finish line.

Prize Distribution: Responsibilities include distributing prizes to event winners during the ceremony and accounting for who needs to pick up later.

Course Monitors: Responsibilities include being sure runners make the correct turns along the course.  Meet at Center City Park.  Volunteer duties are over when the final runner passes by.

Natty’s Beer Garden Servers: Responsibilities include managing cash and serving beer to guests with wristbands. Volunteers must be 21 years of age or older.  

Natty’s Beer Garden ID Check: Responsibilities include checking IDs of guests who are interested in purchasing alcohol. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.

Downtown Greenway Temporary Tattoo Station: Responsibilities involve assisting in the application of the Downtown Greenway Temporary Tattoos.

 

Volunteer Times Available Are:

3:15 – 4:30 pm – Information Tent, Silicone Bracelet Sales, Volunteer Check-In, Natty’s Beer Garden Servers, Natty’s Beer Garden ID Check, Temporary Tattoo Station

3:15 – 5:15 pm – Runner Registration

4:30 – 5:30 pm – Information Tent, Silicone Bracelet Sales, Volunteer Check In, Runner Hospitality Tent on Davie Street, Natty’s Beer Garden Servers, Natty’s Beer Garden ID Check, Temporary Tattoo Station

4:30 – TBD depending on the last runner passing by – Course Monitors

4:45 – 5:45 pm – Water Stations on S. Eugene

5:00 – 6:00 pm - Water Station Along Mendenhall

5:15 – 6:15 pm – Water Station at Iron Hen Cafe

5:30 – 6:30 pm - Silicone Bracelet Sales, Volunteer Check In, Runner Hospitality on Davie Street, Natty’s Beer Garden Servers, Natty’s Beer Garden ID Check, Temporary Tattoo Station

5:45 – 6:45 pm – Chip Collectors

6:15 – 7:15 pm – Prize Distribution

6:30 – 7:30 pm – Silicone Bracelet Sales , Volunteer Check In, Runner Hospitality on Davie Street, Natty’s Beer Garden Servers, Natty’s Beer Garden ID Check, Temporary Tattoo Station
